Proposed and organized by a local high school senior, the freeFall Youth Council is a new student-driven, student-led program for passionate and motivated Tampa Bay-area high school students in grades 9-12 who want to learn about the inner workings of professional theatre from some of the most celebrated artists in the Tampa Bay area. Engaging young people in theatre and offering them enriching educational experiences has always been central to freeFall’s mission, and we’re very excited to introduce this new opportunity. In addition to spending time with these professionals, inaugural Council members will attend freeFall productions, lead events for their peers at freeFall, and have the opportunity to build this outreach program from the ground up. The Council will meet monthly from November 2016 through May 2017. Council members also need to attend any scheduled high school afternoon/evening for each freeFall production. Please do not apply if you are not able to commit to fully participating in the Council.
There are no prerequisites for being selected other than enthusiasm for getting more students interested in theatre. Our goal is to put together a Council made up of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. We want to get to know you through this application process.
Applications are due November 4. If needed, skype interviews may be held during the week of November 7. If you have any questions, please contact freeFall Community Outreach Director Matthew McGee at firstname.lastname@example.org or 727-498-5205 ext 7.
