Sondheim and Weidman’s Road Show
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by John Weidman
From the writing team that brought us Assassins and Pacific Overtures – Road Show is based on the true story of the Mizner Brothers. From the Alaskan Gold Rush in the 1890s to the Florida real estate boom in the 1920s, Road Show is the story of men and women in late nineteenth century America, willing to take risks to grab their piece of the American Dream. Spanning 40 years, Addison and Wilson Mizner are constantly looking for the next way to strike it rich. This quest turns into a test of morality and judgment for the two brothers that will change their lives in unexpected ways.

freeFall at the Movies: Dick Tracy (1990)
Hosted by Matthew McGee
Warren Beatty! Madonna! Al Pacino! Stephen Sondheim? Yes, Sondheim wrote all-new songs for the big-screen adaptation of famous comic strip, Dick Tracy. In fact, Sondheim’s “Sooner or Later” won an Oscar for Best Song at the 63rd Annual Academy Awards. Hard-boiled detective Dick Tracy is searching for evidence that proves Alphonse Big Boy Caprice is the city’s most dangerous crime boss. He may have found the key to unraveling the crime-lord’s illegal empire in Breathless Mahoney, an enigmatic barroom singer who has witnessed some of Caprice’s crimes firsthand. Stylish, action-packed and just plain fun, 1990’s Dick Tracy is a film the whole family can enjoy.
Dick Tracy is the perfect companion piece to Sondheim and Weidman’s Road Show playing February 14 through March 16 2024. Dick Tracy is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 50 minutes.
